What did the single say to the album? "You complete me"

The occasion for frivolity is Apple launching Complete My Album. iTunes buyers now can upgrade a digital single purchase to a full album purchase within 180 days and receive credit for the singles they already bought.

iTunes will promote the upgrade with a personalized Complete My Album page where they can purchase the album at a reduced price.

It's not clear what restrictions apply to the program. Apple does announce that Complete My Album is for "qualifying albums", but provides no more information about such qualifications. The press release gives an example of three purchased singles that bring the album upgrade price down from $9.99 to $7.02.

iTunes now offers offers four million songs, in addition to 350 television shows and over 400 movies.
