Are lyrics getting lost in the digital era?

Lyrics are a pretty critical part of music; they provide the majority of communication from the artist to the listener, but they seem to be getting more and more lost in the current digital take on music. Virtually no digital download service provides lyrics with their music downloads, in a contrast to the booklets you see with CD versions of the music.

A survey has been carried out by the National Year of Reading, which has stated that 90% of fans think that lyrics are very important, and 50% think they are less accessable than 5 years ago.

Do you agree? should we be getting lyrics with our digital downloads, or are written copies or lyrics a thing of the past?
