AT&T To Monitor Your Internet Use
ISPs used to protect their subscribers. No more. When they start selling entertainment and get in bed with Hollywood, you the consumer are back to sleeping on the floor with the dogs.

AT&T, the largest U.S. broadband Internet provider with 13 million customers, is deploying fiber to the home, which allows the company to expand its offerings from phone and Internet service to cable. They're working with the MPAA, Viacom, and other content companies. It's no coincidence that they've announced they'll be deploying anti-piracy technology.

So the next time you're evaluating an Internet service, there now is a new factor in selecting your ISP. Ask whether they monitor and filter how you use your Internet service. And make sure you get it in writing.
