Audible Magic Adds Google

YouTube has promised effective filtering of copyrighted content for several months. It's finally going to make good. In a surprising turn Google YouTube has given up on internal development (at least for now) and gone out of house to select Audible magic.

Content fingerprinter Audible Magic recently announced a deal with MySpace. It scored another big win by adding Google. Audible Magic currently only has audio fingerprinting. A video version is under development. The Audible Magic software works by comparing the audio track of uploaded YouTube files against a large database of audio from music and video copyrighted content.
