In the latest figures released, both the british BPI and the internation IFPI have reported big drops over the past year in how many cds are being sold at retail, in shops like HMV in the UK, and Walmart in the US.
The IFPI are suggesting a 12% drop on the previous year, which amounts to over 2billion USD in lost cash.
They are reccomending ISPs start filtering illegal downloads, despite the virtual technical impossibility of a system like that, and add they are supporting new DRM Free sites and ad-supported legal music....
It's an interesting one indeed, and I'm not sure which side I am on...
