Nielsen Soundscan has just released the weekly figures from the week ending with "Black Friday", a day known in america for being one of the biggest shopping days of the year, with many retailers offering bargain deals to try and get customers through the door. While in general, figures are positive, even up on last year despite the negative economic conditions the world has faced, CD sales are down once more. Compared year on year they are down a massive 16%... showing that digital music is really, really starting to take over.
Good or bad? I'm on the fence. I'd be perfectly happy to use digital download services 100% of the time if they would only give me some decent quality levels! CDs are still king in that respect...
