Creative Attacks iPod's Belly With $40 Player
Filed in archive Companies , MP3 Players on May 17, 2007
Creative Technology is attacking iPod's underbelly with a bargain-priced $40 MP3 player called the Creative Zen Stone. The diminutive Stone comes with 1GB of storage, enough for hundreds of songs. It's just over 2 inches long, 1.5 inches WIDE, and 0.5 inches thick, similar in size to the iPod shuffle iRiver Clix. The Stone will be available in six different colors - black, gray, yellow, red, pink, blue, and yellow,
At that low price Creative is hoping to not only sell first-time buyers, but also existing buyers who seek a second player for themselves or an inexpensive gift.

If it won't play AAC files and work with iTunes, it won't hurt iPod sales.
