GTube: All Good
Filed in archive Companies on October 9, 2006
YouTube is busy with all cylinders hitting on the corporate front. Google is offering $1.6 billion and reday to host the videos on its mammoth server farms. Marc Cuban points to the inherent copyright issues of the long tail when he writes "Moronic would be an understatement of a lifetime" about the deal.
But the major are buying that tune. Warner was the first (Warner Music Greenlights Viral Video) to license the third party use of its music and share in ad revenues. Now other entertainment companies are falling in line, including CBS, Universal Music Group, and Sony BMG.
