In Rainbows; a retrospective.

Filed in archive Artists by Jordan Grodecki on October 17, 2008

When Radiohead made it clear that you could pay whatever you wanted for a digital download of thier new album, it sent waves through the online music world. Music from a major artist...and we can pay what we want? This can't be right?! But it was, and it generated a phenominal amount of publicity.

Yet....there was still this nagging feeling that far too many people might just think, "eh, it's free if I want it to be...and I do!"

Apparently, according to the facts released over the past few days, this did not occur, and that the album generated more money for the band prior to it's physical release (which in itself was a massive success) than their last album, Hail To The Theif, did in total.

Congrats Radiohead!
