Japanese IIJ To Use P2P for Video and Music
Japanese ISP Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) will roll out a P2P service to reduce network traffic, such as that from video web sites. The P2P software will be based on Winny P2P software also developed in Japan.

Founder and president Koichi Suzuki said "We want to distribute content that many people want to see but has been a burden for the network. ... Infrastructure should be managed with the expectation that there will be lots of content. But there is a need to question who will pay for the higher cost of distributing videos on the Internet than on radio waves."
