BUZZNET BUSIES UP FOR $6 million

LA-based Buzznet, a music-oriented social networking startup, snagged $6 million from Redpoint Ventures and Anthem Venture Partners.

Buzznet started in 2005 with a focus on music similar to MySpace. The company markets to bands at music events and provides artist-oriented tools and services. The company has attracted a large number of independent bands and currently claims six million members.
