H2O AUDIO LANDS $5 MILLION FOR IPOD CASES

H2O Audio in San Diego manufactures waterproof iPod cases and headphones. Steelpoint Capital Partners led the series C round. The company is expanding its extreme sports accessories from water, snow, and sand protection to rugged outdoor use for climbers and bicyclists.

EMOTIVE LANDS $7 MILLION FOR NEXT GENERATION RINGTONES

LA-based Emotive promotes push ringtones that override a call recipient's regular ringtone with a custom clip sent from the caller. Investors include Warner Music Group, Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, and D. E. Shaw Group. Pushtones are being created 3G, 4G, and VoIP phones.
