MP3: Everything Old is New Again

Are MP3's coming back? A groundswell is forming for abandoning DRM protection, including rumors from major labels execs of change on the way.

While the logic is impeccable, it's still mostly wishful thinking on the part of analysts. The labels have finally abandoned copy protection on CDs. But that may be more related to avoiding Sony BMG's rootkit fiasco than a policy change on DRM. We'll believe it when we see it.
