SoundExchange is the sole distributor of music royalty payments to artists from Internet and satellite broadcasting and they're looking for you. 9,000 artists haven't been found or filled out the paperwork, including the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Olsen twins, and Men Without Hats. They have until December 15 or they lose their payments. SoundExchange expects to bring in $40 million in royalties next year.
According to their FAQ:
As a result of extended outreach programs, SoundExchange has notified 25,000 recording artists of the royalties owed them. SoundExchange has already paid out over $53 million dollars to thousands of performers and has processed over 800 million digital plays (satellite radio, internet radio and cable/satellite television radio services) since its establishment in 2000.
