Napster Answers Apple

Napster one-ups Apple with excellent deals on MP3 players. It's an unbeatable deal if you're already a subscriber, or plan to be one, of the $15 per month subscription service.

The Napster 256MG Flash Player is free with a one year subscription. Apple doesn't have an iPod Nano with that little memory. The iPod Shuffle with 512Mb storage costs $69.

Napster's 1GB Player costs only $50 with a one year subscription. That compares with the the $149 1GB iPod Nano.

The Napster players feature a 128 x 160 display. They run the DRM10 PlaysForSure files that are part of the Napster service, as well as WMA and MP3 files. Additional features include MPEG-4 video, JPG photo, and FM radio support. Endgadet summarized "[W]e liked what we saw for the most part."
