Pandora Opens The Mobile Box

pandora, a music recommendation service, moved off the PC to the mobile market with deals with Sprint (mobile phones), SanDisk (portable media players), and Sonos (wireless home stereo systems). The SanDisk alliance will also include Zing, which provided WiFi technology for the wireless SanDisk Sansa Connect player.

Pandora enables users to create personalized music stations based on their tastes. Unlike other services that use collaborative filtering Pandora employs a staff-created song genome database that encode encodes dozens of music characteristics.
