Price Fixing is Back Again

New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is investigating the major record labels again. He issued subpoenas looking at how the labels price music for digital distribution. Apple has been criticial of the music industry for trying to raise prices for music sold through iTunes, which currently is $0.99.

State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer was successful in a previous payola investigation where Warner Music paid $5 million and Sony BMG $10 million to settle.
