Rant: iPod Shuffle
Posted in Apple on March 12th, 2009
Okay. So this isn't exactly directly digital music related but I need to let this out somewhere. Apple recently released the new, rather good looking model of the shuffle you see above. It's small, portable, and 4gb; perfect for the gym or just a casual player to drag around with you.
Or not. See, apple have decided to go just a little too far with this one, removing all control of skipping tracks from the player itself, and onto a remote built into special headphones. We don't like DRM, so we don't like pointless non standard devices; why could they not have just put a 3.5" port on the remote? No, you are going to have to buy an addaptor if you want to have even REMOTELY good sound quality.
Bad move, Apple.

OK, so it looks nice and I’m sure it has many interesting features, but I’m really fed up with all that iTunes thing. Right now i’m planning buyin an mp3 player from http://www.chinabuye.com. The reasons for it are: its quality is really high, while the prices remain low and it has no iTunes which I personally hate. Oh, and the shipping is free, so I guess it’s time to buy it.
