Rent A Song-10 Cents A Track

Michael Robertson alerts us to the latest retarded idea by the record companies-song rentals! Here's how it works: Lala is letting you listen to any track on their website-over 5 million of them-one time. If you want to listen to it more than once, it will cost you a dime. You want it on a portable device in MP3 format? That will be another 79 cents (or more, depending on the artist).

The good news is that this is all legally licensed music. Also, the first 50 tracks you add to your web locker are free. The bad news? Those rented songs can only be listened to if you can get to Lala with a web browser.
