Sanitizing Your iTunes Plus Files
In The iTunes Plus Scam I shared how Apple and EMI are placing your name and email address in unsecured AAC files, risking your privacy and a lawsuit.

There is a solution if you want to protect yourself and buy the iTunes Plus files, at least if you're a Mac user.

roguelinks Amoeba Fission is a $32 Mac audio editor that can cleans your personal identifying information from your iTunes files. When you save the format in the original AAC format, the software will read the AAC file, leave the audio track and regular metadata untouched, and remove extraneous metadata like the iTunes personal info.

Download.com lists nine music editors that handle AAC files and may do the same, including for Windows - Jasmine, Tag&Rename, MobileDJ Pro, AudioManage Audio Library, Mp3Tag, i.Xchange MP3 editor, AudioShell, and TagTuner.
