The Power of the Apple
Market research company, the NPD Group, said that apple mac laptopslinks have grown to garner 17% of reseller retail sales. Apple ranks third behind only HP and Toshiba, and ahead of Dell, Gateway, and Lenovo. Now these numbers are retail only. They don't account for desktops or direct sales to individuals, businesses, or enterprises. Apple's overall PC market share is 5%.

Still, it highlights Apple's timely positioning. People are increasingly buying laptops over desktops. Increasing strength in computer sales can only lead to continued domination in iTunes and iPod markets, while Apple slowly grinds down Microsoft's operating system monopoly.
