TivoToGo Going Gone
Does DRM have a real and significant impact on products and their legal use? Absolutely.

Tivo has taken a step back with their TiVo Series3 HD player. The Tivo ToGo service that allowed users to share recorded programs with computers in the home has been eliminated. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Did you know that cable providers are mandated to support CableCARDlinks devices in 2007 so consumers can use their own cable settop boxes. Good luck waiting for that.

The EFF traces this story. The article shows Hollywood's growing power over cable and satellite TV and what you can do to protect your consumer rights.
