Wal-Mart DRM server shutdown
Filed in archive DRM on September 30, 2008
DRMed music is never a good thing for us here at DMF, and here is a Great example of why.
Wal-Mart, up until recently, ran a DRM based music download service, before eventually switching to a drm-free MP3 approach. However, customers could not convert to the new MP3s they had bought, oh no, they had to keep their DRMed ones; which will now become completely useless, unless backed up to audio CD, with the shutdown of the DRM server.
So when a company who runs a DRM service goes bust, we lose all our music? Great work there.

really great work. So should we look for a new converter?
