Where’s the Meat?

Glamour has always been "in" in the record biz. Rappers have taken it to the next level with ballin', bling, threads, and tricked out vehicles.
But don't confuse the sizzle for steak. It's still a business if you manage artists or have a label. The article "Is This A Business Or A Game?" shows how it's easy to blow hundreds of thousands of dollars in appearances with little in return.
It's conclusion is on target: "Why venture into the entertainment industry if what you really want is your personal 15 minutes of fame? The duties of a record label are to produce, manufacture, market, promote, sell and collect monies on the music that is created by the company. Anything less is not a record company!"
