Yahoo Offers Artists TV Tie-In
Yahoo Music is working with USA Networks to help promote artists. The Yahoo LAUNCHcast streaming music service allows listeners to rate songs. Top-rate artists then will be offered to USA Networks, which can then use the music in its original television programming.

The join promotion is a win for everyone. Independent artists get a shot at increased exposure and actual licensing revenues. Launchcast users get to know that their ratings are actually used by other parties and can help their favorite artists. USA Networks gets to tap into new artists and fresh sounds, and can license new music at a lower fee than established acts.
